Tuberculose after the First World War

Tuberculose after the First World War

Kasteel De Lovie will open its doors to the general public in 2020. This is part of a temporary exhibition about the emergence of De Lovie as a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients after the First World War. At the time, tuberculosis was one of the largest silent killers in the country. Personal stories from patients, caregivers and family members show the impact of tuberculosis on the affected persons and their environment. At the same time you can explore the beautiful castle domain.

Westtoer's project 'Feniks 2020' tells the story of the reconstruction in the Westhoek after the First World War. Thematic exhibitions and public events tell the story of the revival of a region so severely afflicted by the First World War. Discover the full range of the Westhoek at: www.feniks2020.be
