The German tower from the Second World War in Poperinge is being restored and will be opened to the public. From 9 May 2025, exactly 80 years after the end of WWII, the tower will be accessible as a viewing and information point.

The German tower is one of the few remaining visible traces of the air war in Poperinge during the Second World War. The Germans built it as an observation tower for Flugplatz Peselhoek, a 125-hectare airfield that was never used. Along the Poperinge canal, you can also find two small bunkers marking the border of the former airfield.

A short or long walking loop leads you along these unique wartime relics.
