The region around Poperinge is also known as the Hoppeland. In this rolling landscape, hop vines make their way up the hill. Hops add flavour to beer and ensure longer storage. You cycle past passionate brewers who expertly produce the tastiest craft beers.
You dive into the greenery of the Helleketelbos and the Sixtusbossen and view art on your passage through Watou. Along the way, you enjoy beautiful vistas and delightful descents, the silence of the Westhoek and regional delicacies in local restaurants. Although this part of Flanders was not occupied by Germany, the scars of the First World War are also present in the landscape.
