On 5 May 1942, Flight Sergeant STACY JONES (122 Squadron RAF) died in a dogfight during RAF Operation Circus 157. He crashed with his Spitfire Mk. He crashed with his Spitfire Mk. V BM404 into the house opposite on Provenseweg 47. Flight Sergeant Jones is buried at Ypres Town Cemetery Extension.
