The brewery was active until 1963, since then the buildings have remained silent witnesses of past activity. In 1998, a group of volunteers founded the non-profit organization 'De Fietseling' with the goal of restoring the former brewery site and giving it a new future. During the preparation for the restoration, the 'Mouttoren' collapsed in 2001. In 2015, the restoration of the malt house started with the 'Mouttoren', which was completed in 2020. The old village brewery is experiencing a second youth as the Children’s Brewery. Play traditional and board games together or enjoy a cozy organic house beer while the children play in the courtyard.
From the 'Mouttoren', you get a magnificent view of the village of Reningelst, the valley of the Grote Beek, and the West Flanders hill ridge.
