Abele is a charming village on and next to the French border. Abele is located mainly within the territory of Poperinge, but also partly in the French municipality of Boeschepe. The village has about 600 inhabitants. Abele's main street coincides with the national border; you can, as it were, jump from one country to the other.
Abele is a peaceful place to spend time. Children let off steam on the Droomplein right next to the church, a project realized by the Abele residents' platform together with Regional Landscape Westhoek and the Interreg project Partons 2.0.
