Poperinge

Northern France

Whilst being in Northern France, sample a local drink called "picon" and listen to the "flemish" dialect as this area belonged until 1677 to the count of Flanders. Hence especially older people still speak our dialect as Poperinge is only a stone's throw away. Major towns include Lille, Calais and Dunkerque with their museums and shops, restaurants, events... Hike along the cliffs of Cap Gris Nez and Cap Blanc Nez and you just might witness the white cliffs of Dover across the Channel. More on www.northernfrance-tourism.com
